چکیده
This paper addresses the use of a geothermal heat-sink to remove heat released in domestic-sized single and double-effect water–LiBr absorption chillers operating hot climates. study is continuation previous work, which demonstrated operational constraints these working Algerian climate-zones. After localizing non-operation zones for both systems, thermo-physical properties soil at several depths are investigated implementation underground heat-exchanger. heat-exchanger connected condenser absorber supply cooling water inlet temperatures 33 °C climate conditions, with ambient varying from 38 42 °C. The results show steady operation conditions had not previously allowed two systems operate or air-cooled modes. A maximum coefficient performance 0.76 1.25 obtained single- cycles, respectively, chilled 7 underground-tube length required between 4.5 18 m, depending on absorption-cycle configuration temperature water.

Cooling Performance Analysis of Water-Cooled Heat Sinks with Circular and Rectangular Minichannels Using Finite Volume Method
In this paper, the cooling performance of water-cooled heat sinks for heat dissipation from electronic components is investigated numerically. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations are carried out to study the rectangular and circular cross-sectional shaped heat sinks. The sectional geometry of channels affects the flow and heat transfer characteristics of minichannel heat sinks. T...
متن کاملBypass Effect in High Performance Heat Sinks
Studies using commercial computational fluid dynamics software, running on a supercomputer, were carried out to investigate the effects of fin density, inlet duct velocity, and clearance area ratio, on the extent of flow bypass and its impact on the thermal performance of the heat sink. Flow bypass was found to increase with increasing fin density and clearance, while remaining relatively insen...
متن کاملScaling in Geothermal Heat Pump Systems
INTRODUCTION Water quality is a frequently overlooked issue in the application of geothermal heat pump (GHP) systems. When considered at all, is often viewed as a problem unique to open loop systems. In residential open loop applications water is supplied directly to the heat pump’s refrigerant-to-water heat exchanger. If the water has a tendency to be scale forming, fouling of the heat exchang...
